Follow the steps below to set up Outlook 2016 to send and receive encrypted emails using the IMAP protocol.
- Open Outlook
- Click "File" tab select "+ Add Account" this will open the Add Account window.
- Select "Manually setup or additional server types," click "Next"
- Select "POP or IMAP" click "Next"
- Enter the values in the Account Settings window:
- Your Name: The name you want to appear in outgoing emails
- E-mail Address: Enter your full email address.
- Account Type: Select "IMAP"
- Incoming mail server: mail.tangohosting.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.tangohosting.com
- User Name: Your full email address.
- Password: Your email account password
- Select "Remember Password"
- Click "More Settings"
- Click on the second tab "Outgoing Server"
- Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
- Radio button selected "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
- Click on the third tab "Advanced"
- Set server (IMAP): 993
- Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
- Set Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
- Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
- Click "OK"
- Click "Next"
- Click "Finish"
