How to configure an encrypted connection IMAP email account in Outlook 2013

Follow the steps below to set up Outlook 2013 to send and receive encrypted email using the IMAP protocol (replace "your_domain_name.com" with your actual domain name).
 
  • Open Outlook
  • Click "File" tab select "+ Add Account" this will open the Add Account window.
  • Select "Manually setup or additional server types," click "Next"
  • Select "POP or IMAP" click "Next"
  • Enter the values in the Account Settings window:
     
    • Your Name: The name you want to appear in outgoing emails
    • E-mail Address: The email address you want to appear in outgoing email (e.g. name@your_domain_name.com)
    • Account Type: Select "IMAP"
    • Incoming mail server: mail.tangohosting.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.tangohosting.com
    • User Name: Your full email address (e.g. name@your_domain_name.com)
    • Password: Your email account password
    • Select "Remember Password"
       
  • Click "More Settings"
  • Click on the second tab "Outgoing Server"
  • Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
    • Radio button selected "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
  • Click on the third tab "Advanced"
  • Set server (IMAP): 143
    • Use the following type of encrypted connection: TLS
  • Set Outgoing server (SMTP): 587
    • Use the following type of encrypted connection: TLS
  • Click "OK"
  • Click "Next"
  • Click "Finish"
